Hi,

I’m a scenic and projection designer, scenic artist, and educator whose work brings narrative, architecture, and materiality into dynamic conversation.

I create environments across a wide range of forms and scales—from intimate devised works and puppetry to full-stage productions and circus performance—each one an experiment in how the scale and structure of a space shape the emotional landscape of performance.

My work moves between new plays and reimagined classics, blending projection, sculptural form, and visual rhythm into cohesive storytelling environments. I’m drawn to projects that expand my creative vocabulary—experiments in form and collaboration that ask how design can reshape our sense of space and story. The most meaningful work, for me, lives where imagination and structure meet, transforming the stage into a place of shared discovery.

That same spirit of curiosity and experimentation informs my teaching and mentorship at Wayne State University’s Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, where I serve as Associate Professor of Scenic Design and head of the Design and Technology area. I work with both graduate and undergraduate designers, teaching courses in scenic design, visual communication, and digital media tools for performance. My teaching emphasizes collaboration, curiosity, and the integration of traditional craft with evolving technologies.

Before joining the Wayne State faculty, I taught at Michigan State University and SUNY Albany. I hold a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA from the Yale School of Drama.

For me, design is both inquiry and craft: a process of testing how visual form, texture, and space can alter the way we experience narrative. My current work continues to explore new intersections between live performance, emerging technologies, and the shared physical imagination of the theatre.
